About Me
Susan Kuhl
RN., BScN, NCA, NSWOC, WOCC(c)
Nurse Continence Advisor
Nurse Specialized in Wound, Ostomy & Continence
Welcome! I'm Susan, a dedicated Nurse Continence Advisor and Wound, Ostomy, and Continence (WOC) specialist. Over the years, I've had the privilege of supporting hundreds of patients struggling with bowel and bladder issues. My journey in this field has been incredibly rewarding, as I've witnessed firsthand how proper care can transform lives.
My Journey
My career began with a deep passion for helping those in need. After completing the Nurse Continence Advisor course at McMaster University, I was amazed at how much there was to learn about bowel and bladder care. This knowledge opened up a new career path for me, allowing me to fill crucial gaps in patient care and advocate for those who often suffer in silence.
Impact and Advocacy
I've built my practice to receive over 300 referrals annually, earning the trust of patients and healthcare professionals alike. By working closely with urologists, nurse practitioners and nursing students, I've ensured that my patients receive the comprehensive care they deserve. However, I recognize that continence care is vastly underserved worldwide. This realization has driven me to begin teaching and mentoring continence nurses in order to increase awareness and access to specialized continence care.
Mentorship and Education
One of my greatest joys is mentoring healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurse practitioners, and students. Through my practice, I've guided many towards providing exceptional continence care. Now, I'm expanding my reach by educating other nurses, helping them become informed, passionate advocates for their patients.
I offer a variety of educational opportunities, including:
Mentorship Programs
Preceptorship
Online Courses
Seminars and Workshop
Additionally, I'm available for consultations and collaborations with healthcare professionals, such as doctors, nurse practitioners, and case coordinators.
Let's Connect
I'm committed to empowering nurses and healthcare providers with the knowledge and skills needed to improve the lives of those suffering from bowel and bladder issues. If you're interested in mentorship, education, or consulting services, I'd love to connect with you.
Together, we can make a difference in continence care and bring much-needed attention to this critical area of health. Let's break the silence and support our community members in living healthier, more comfortable lives.
